Do you carry Reusable bags?

Last weekend, when we were checking out groceries at the supermarket checkout, my Dad made a passing comment.

He said “I’d better keep a reusable bag in my car for grocery shopping”

At that moment, I just stared at him, because this was a man of the plastic bag generation. He of the “Let’s take more plastic bags so we can use it for rubbish” generation. And here he was talking about keeping reusable bags in his car! I was so proud of him!

Before he could change his mind, I handed over a rolled up RuMe bag in a neutral brown and that sold him many times over because he couldn’t get over how practical it was that it folded up so small.

The RuMe reusable bags come in many colors and designs and for men I’d recommend getting the Regular size. There are many sedate colours and designs too that no man would feel awkward carrying. You can use it for a myriad of uses, not just for groceries. Some people even use it to carry papers or documents to work. Useful because it can carry up to 50kg. Not that you’d ever need to :)

If you prefer something with a zip, check out the RuMe All bag. You don’t have to use the RuMe.

There are lots of other reusable bags out there that fold down into nothing so you can slip it into your jeans pocket. The idea is to use them so we cut down the use of plastic bags and contribute towards saving the environment.

Refusing plastic bags might not be a big thing, but its a small step that we can all take :)

So do you carry reusable bags? Or do you feel funny carrying them. I know some men do but if my 60 year old Dad can make that change, so can you! :D

RuMe bags can be purchased from tinytapir.com

Love them! I will have to check out the site. I normally use the reusable ones from the stores with their logo on (in Australia) – not a good fashion statement.
