Launch of Garnier for Men Malaysia

We have something new for everyone to look forward to in the coming year, a whole new lineup of men’s skin care products from none other than affordable brand Garnier! We posted earlier on the launch of Garnier for men in India with John Abraham. Guess what, we have our very own Malaysian spokesperson in Fahrin Ahmad, a local actor/model and TV host.

Garnier launched their men’s range about a week back and they showcased their range of products that they will be bringing to your local pharmacy or department store from January 2010 onwards. In fact, you can see some of the range already available at selected Guardian Pharmacies. I spotted them at Guardian in Bangsar.

Garnier has been a brand that focuses on the use of natural energy which fuses nature, science and technology to give great products that are reasonably priced. All of us would have seen their many available products for women in the skincare section with their own unique formulas and us men will be able to benefit from that soon enough.

Men’s skincare is one of the fastest growing markets, 3 times faster than women’s and Asia makes up more than 50% of the men’s skincare market. This is evident from countries such as Japan, Korea and Thailand whose men find it very important to always look immaculate. Hence, Malaysia is very lucky to be one of the first few Asian countries to benefit from the boom in men’s skincare. This is evident from the many new ranges that we are seeing in the pharmacies nowadays and it gets even better when affordable but excellent brands like Garnier come out with skincare for men.

Garnier is bringing 3 ranges to us, TurboLight Oil Control, TurboLight and AquaFuel which cater for the different requirements that different skin types have.

Their star range is the Garnier Men TurboLight Oil Control which helps to rectify skin dullness, provides 6hr shine-free faces and removes blackheads.

(P/S: I have tried their TurboLight Oil Control Moisturiser and just couldn’t wait to tell you how good it works. It promises 6hr shine-free faces but when I tried it out, it provided me with a more than 12hr shine-free face! This was with sunscreen applied on top of it no less. So, look out for that review coming soon!)

Then there is the TurboLight range for those looking for brighter and fresher looking skin and the AquaFuel which gives non-stop hydration while removing pollutants and dirt.

One interesting product which they have is the Refreshing Eye Roll-On. It contains caffeine extracts to help reduce eye bags, dark circles and tiredness around the eyes. It is a stick with a roller ball applicator which you use to “roll-on” around the eye area. Something which should be excellent for those who work late nights or who need to see their clients without wanting to look like panda’s after a night out.

All 3 ranges make use of natural ingredients such as lemon and peppermint extract, oil-absorbing mineral clay as well as ginseng and green tea extracts. Hence, it is not too harsh on the skin and is suitable for Asian skin which is more sensitive. The products will be priced from RM6.90 for the cleansers to RM24.90 for the eye roll-on which is very affordable for the average Malaysian man.
