Men are taking better care of their skin – its a growing industry that many brands have started paying interest to. But the fact is that not many brands or counters or stores are Men-friendly.
Men don’t want to step into a store filled with flowers and perfumed scents. They just want to step into a store, pick up their products and leave.
In our search for Men-friendly skincare stores or counters, we come across Kiehl’s.
Kiehl’s has a rather neutral gender store layout – looking much like an apothecary from which it started. Pictures on the wall are subtle and feature male chemists who made the brand what it is today, and the ubiquitous Harley Davidson in some Kiehl’s stores.
Products are packaged in minimalist packaging – nothing flowery or pink or strongly fragranced. The best part is that Kiehl’s also employ male sales assistants who can guide you through the products available.
In short, Kiehl’s is a men-friendly store that men would not feel out of place in. With the Facial Fuel range of products specifically for men, Kiehl’s have the men covered!
In Malaysia, Kiehl’s is available at their stores at MidValley Megamall, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, 1 Utama New Wing and at Isetan KLCC.

It’s good that the needs for men to have an environment specifically tailored for their needs is being recognised. In the next few years we will see a lot more of these ‘Male Grooming’ outlets start to appear as the industry goes from strength to strength.
