Eczema is a form of dermatitis or inflammation of the upper layers of the skin. The number of people suffering from eczema is still increases, and this is especially true for developing countries. Statistics state that its prevalence stands at more than 10% in the general population, which means that one out of every ten people you meet or know have to suffer this problem.
Even though most dermatologists might tell you that the problem is genetically-linked, I strongly believe that environmental factors are now the main cause of eczema. This is linked to the increasing levels of pollution in the world we live in.
Although most cases affect children, I only developed the condition in adulthood. I have bad eczema on my knuckles, elbows and knees. Read more below on how I control my eczema problem.
All eczema sufferers know how uncontrollable an eczema itch can be, and how dry skin is the main culprit of the itch. Often termed as “the itch that rashes”, there is no chance for recovery as long as the victim continues to scratch the eczema patch.
I’ve personally tried many, many different products that claim to alleviate eczema – some really helped, but most did not. Almost all conventional moisturising lotions only attempt to replace the loss of natural moisture with artificial moisture, but the latter will be removed each time you wash your hands or come into contact with water, so how effective is that?!

One product that really impressed me is called Gloves In A Bottle. It is a lotion you rub on affected skin that quickly forms an invisible protective shield to lock in moisture and the skin’s natural oils, while keeping out irritants and allergens.
The lotion is rapidly absorbed by the skin and bonds with the outermost layer of skin cells to turn it into what works like an invisible pair of gloves, hence the brand name! It does not wash off easily, but comes off naturally when your skin cells are naturally exfoliated. So it works from within to moisturise dry and cracked skin from inside-out. As long as the skin remains moisturised, the itch is removed, so no further scratching and aggravating the condition. This allows the skin time to heal itself…and before you know it, there is much improvement!
Marvellous product I must say!
